Winner of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama / Orchestra of the Swan Composition Prize (2005); premiered by Orchestra of the Swan at the Pump Rooms, Cheltenham, 22 March 2005. The prize led to the subsequent Orchestra of the Swan commission Open the Curtains; The Blue Flask itself was not that commission.
