Pianist Leyla Cemiloglu performs Òscar’s works at the Centro de Alto Rendimento Artístico de Matosinhos

In the elegant setting of Centro de Alto Rendimiento Artístico, pianist Leyla Cemiloglu offers a captivating journey through an all‑Spanish programme—from delicate introspection to vibrant imagery—within the Porto Pianofest Artist Residency Series.

Cemiloglu’s programme includes two of Óscar Colomina i Bosch’s Imatges: a luminous triptych—Cant i Espai, Pedra i Llum (Song and Space, Stone and Light), and Platja i Nit. Albà (Beach and Night, Albà) —each movement inspired by emblematic landmarks of Valencia and tied to the evocative imagery of Vicent Andrés Estellés’s poetry.

Her programme further explores the soundscapes of Spanish Catalan speaking Mediterranean lands through Mompou’s and Elisenda Fábregas’s music. The evening culminates with Granados’s much‑beloved “El Pelele”, a joyful homage to a Goya painting that brings the evening to a luminous close.

Across this richly woven programme, Cemiloglu unites classical and modern voices, inviting us to listen anew. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience her poetic insight at CARA, tonight at 18:00.
