In a varied programme with a Bohemian thread, the three Christmas Concerts also featured Beethoven’s Razumovsky string quartet Nº3

The Yehudi Menuhin School closed its 2019 year with the traditional Christmas Showcase concerts, held in the Menuhin Hall on the 8th, 9th and 10th of December, 2019.

The programme included traditional carols and payed hommage to the Beethoven anniversary by including his celebrated string quartet Razumovsky Nº3. The evenings also had a strong Bohemian thread, featuring works by Dvorak, Janacek and Mahler’s Adagietto – from the 5th Symphony. Mahler’s connection with Vienna offered the perfect link to the Blue Danube, by J. Strauss, performed in a brand new string orchestra transcription by Òscar himself.
