Òscar Colomina i Bosch will conduct the Orquestra de València in his own work, Entfaltung, and in Brahms’ 2nd Symphony on the 23rd of June, in a concert closing the ENSEMS International Festival

The 39th edition of the ENSEMS Festival of Contemporary Music in Valencia, is held alongside the 29th Encounters of Musical Composition, and is the oldest contemporary music festival in Spain. This important event seeks in this edition to give more prominence to Valencian composers and performers. For the Valencian Government, this public festival represents ‘the jewel’ in their cultural programming –according to the Valencian Secretary for Culture.

Òscar will have his debut with the Orquestra de València in a programme which will include his own composition ‘Entfaltung’, commissioned in 2015 by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León and the Fundación Siglo (listen to it HERE). The concert will also include the world premiere of the Clarinet Concerto by Jesús Torres, led from the clarinet by Joan Enric Lluna, and will conclude with Òscar’s reading of an orchestral Classic, Brahms’ 2nd Symphony in D Major, Op.73.
