I am very excited to have finished ‘Shpigl’ over the Christmas period. ‘Shpigl’ was commissioned by the Menuhin Competition and the Britten-Pears Foundation for the Junior Finals of the Menuhin Competition 2016 and makes use of space, a couple of different mutes and gives quite a lot of choice to the young performers to make the piece their own. I was very curious to meet the young performers selected for the next round in this video, and can’t wait to meet in person and hear the five finalists perform Shpigl the 15th of April at the Royal Academy of Music in London!
